Why this exists

cssainc.org was the Society's web address for roughly two decades. When an address like that lapses, the citations do not: university plant-science pages, newspaper gardening columns, club sites and reference works go on pointing at URLs that have stopped resolving. A reader following one lands on an error, or worse, on whatever the next owner puts there.

This site takes the opposite approach. Every address that is known to have existed here answers with a short note saying what the page was, when the Internet Archive captured it, and where to read it — plus a pointer to the Society's current site.

How the index was built

Two sources. The Internet Archive's index of captures of this domain and its shop. and affiliates. subdomains, which establishes what existed and when; and a link-graph export listing which addresses other sites still point at, which establishes what matters. Titles come from the archived pages themselves, not from guesswork; where the Archive has no capture, the entry says so rather than inventing one.

What is deliberately not served

After the Society left, the domain was used for search spam — counterfeit handbag and trainer pages under /images/icons/, and a large volume of blog-comment link spam. Those addresses return 410 Gone. So does the /Rejected-By-UrlScan address, which looks well-linked but collects only spam. A set of machine-written plant-care pages added after the domain changed hands is not served either: those pages were never part of the CSSA's site, and the Internet Archive has no record of them.
